Mel Gibson

I am really over the Mel Gibson scandal and the story has only been out for a day and a half. Yes, I know that Mel drinks. Yes, I know that Mel swears. What about his supposed comments towards Jews? I have searched various websites tonight to find out what exactly he said and all I have read is that he made Anti Jewish remarks. What were the remarks? No one seems to know.
It would be one thing if Mel didn't apologize for what he said or did but Mel said he was sorry. What else can he do at this point. The Jewish community dislikes him and will probably never like him. Jews are calling for him to be blacklisted and for peopel to boycott his movies. The infamous Barbara Walters said she would never go to one of his movies again. Who cares!
Here are some thoughts to ponder...Why don't we boycott the Hollywood producers, writers, directors, actors, etc. who allow the name of the Lord to be taken in vain in almost every movie. I am violently offended every time I hear JC or GD in a movie and these words are used in movie dialogue all of the time!
Why don't we black list everyone in Hollywood who makes movies about homosexual lifestyles and flaunts sex around the movies screen? These cinematic portrayls of life go against my Christian value system and against God's law.
Mel Gibson is a sinner...so is everyone in Hollywood. Mel knows he is a sinner and I believe he is genuinely sorry for what he did. I don't hear the rest of Hollywood (Jewish movie producers included) confessing their sins and asking for forgiveness for all the people they offend through their movies. I don't hear Barbara Walters whispering "I'm sorry Lord" for saying your name in vain for the third time this morning. "Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees"-Matthew 16: 6

Up Late

It seemed like I had so much to say earlier tonight but now that it is 11:30 I'm feeling weird about writing. It has been so long since I stopped to think about the things I love. I spend so much time focusing on frustrations and irritations that I forget my blessings. Okay, so for those of you who don't know me I'll tell you what I love.
I love rainstorms.
I love my home state of Iowa.
I love my long deceased dog Muffin.
I love Christmas and the 4th of July.
I love remembering my childhood.
I love children (though I don't have any of my own).
I love Italy, England, France, Switzerland, and Ireland.
I love that I still believe in Jesus.
I love that I still believe Bono is going to pull me up on stage to sing with him!
I love that I am completely fine never balancing my checkbook.
I love that I have a wonderful family who supports me.
I love the fact that I still believe God has something exciting for my life.
I love finding a great new restaurant.
I love Doris Day movies.
I love gazing at black and white photos of my grandparents and family.
I love the fact that this blog is helping me write again (after a very long drought!)
I love that I still believe marriage can be amazing.

That's all for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow.
